Jen’s flavor of Hatha yoga favors an emphasis on breath work and meditation as well as postures to ground, center and re-energize in a sacred and safe environment that welcomes all at all levels.
The balance and centering the practice brings to the individual while creating community at the same time appeal to her. Her practice tends to move at a slow to medium pace, is restorative and often builds core strength. Jen particularly enjoys teaching those who feel consumed by stress and are dealing with anxiety or depression.
Jen began practicing yoga in 2000 while she was a French teacher at Western Albemarle High School. Since her yoga teacher training in 2006, she has been teaching Hatha and Prenatal Yoga at Studio 206, Farmington Country Club and privately.
Recent events include yoga/art therapy/chakra workshops for “Women in Transition,” candlelit yoga over the winter, a Spring Equinox flower practice and a yoga retreat to St John, Virgin Islands.
Off the mat, Jen enjoys 5 Rhythms/Conscious Dance, practicing Reiki, travel to France and painting with her daughter.
