12:30 – 1:30pm VINYASA YOGA with Hilary
Vinyasa Yoga is a lushly energetic, heat-building practice that links postures in a continuous, flowing sequence of movement and centers the mind upon the steady rhythm of the breath. A typical class will include lots of sun salutations and standing, flowing sequences, some deep and delicious hip-opening, shoulder opening and backbending, inversions, meditation, and final relaxation–with some off-key chanting sometimes thrown in for kicks. Though the practice is vigorous by nature, Hilary encourages practitioners to honor their bodies’ unique needs and to modify postures as needed. And though the asana practice yields increased flexibility, strength, fitness, and grace, it is above all a conduit to greater equanimity, creativity, and joy. The class is open to intermediate and advanced practitioners as well as beginners seeking a challenging practice.
