7:15 – 8:15pm VINYASA YOGA with Frances
In this class, we will explore the energy and connection of asana to our everyday life and seek to bring it to the forefront of our consciousness by employing the power of vinyasa, or flow. The world around us is in a constant state of flux and change and we find advised in the Yoga-Sutras that, “Through concentration on single moments and their sequence there arises discriminative knowledge,” “kshana-tat-kramayoh sanyamad vivekajam jnanam.” (YS 3.53)
This class, strongly rooted in the Ashtanga tradition of K. Pattabhi Jois, will embody and test the wisdom of this teaching and afford students many opportunities to practice learning to breathe within and remain grounded throughout the many moments of their lives.
